Structure of Past Perfect Tense
1. Affirmative Sentences (سادہ فقرات)
Structure:
Subject + had + past participle (V3) + object

Usage of Past Perfect Tense
- To describe an action completed before another action in the past:
- When I reached the station, the train had already left.
- جب میں اسٹیشن پہنچا تو ٹرین پہلے ہی جا چکی تھی۔
- To express a past event completed before a specific time:
- By the time she arrived, I had prepared dinner.
- جب تک وہ پہنچی، میں کھانا تیار کر چکا تھا۔
- To show regret or wish about the past:
- I wish I had studied harder.
- کاش میں زیادہ محنت کرتا۔
- For reported speech (indirect speech):
- She said she had finished her homework.
- اس نے کہا کہ اس نے اپنا ہوم ورک مکمل کر لیا تھا۔
